Imagine a desert that has the sand and rocks
blue,
yellow,
orange,
rojas
or purple color;
a desert with flattened mountains, stone spiers and deep valleys.
That's what the Painted Desert in Arizona and some deserts in Africa and Asia look like..
Why are these deserts colored?? Because they are made of sandstone rocks and colored ashes, residue from an extinct volcano.
The ash hardened into rock.
The wind and rain cut and crumbled the colored rocks.
The colors of the Arizona Painted Desert
change during the day,
depending on the position of the sun in the sky.
sometimes it appears
like a clear and bright landscape.
Sometimes, dark and gloomy.
