The editorial office of a newspaper

Posted in 9 - What do people do, People at the service of information

Many editors work in the editorial offices of a newspaper. Read the articles, select photos and illustrations and write headlines. They decide which articles are going to be published.

In the editorial office all the news are collected.

Sometimes the journalist goes to the newsroom to write his article. Other times he communicates the news by telephone to a stenographer, that later copies them to the machine.

News from foreign correspondents reaches the newspaper on the teletype. An operator collects them.

In most newsrooms, a team of cartoonists illustrate some items, and others draw the comics called comics.
